Feature Creatures is a fully insured and licensed mobile animal exhibition, approved by the NSW Department of Industry and Investment, Exhibitors License A103.ABN 4241396344, BN97913483.Feature Creatures has been operating since 2002 with amazing successes, including Best Display awarded at the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Committee (PIJAC) Aquarium Fish and Reptile Expo 2003.Jacki and Darrelyn have over 45 years experience in animal care, education and conservation.Jacki and Darrelyn's shared passion of Australias unique native fauna shines through during their fun and informative style of presentation. Jacki and Darrelyn have both worked, studied and lectured at institutions including; Taronga Zoo Sydney, Macquarie University, Sydney Institute of Technology, Richmond TAFE, Bullens Animal World, Australian Society of Zoo Keeping (ASZK), Wildlife Information Rescue and Rehabilitation Service (WIRES), along with many other wildlife care groups and private veterinary centresJacki and Darrelyn are members of the Mobile Wildlife Education Association (MWEA)."The far reaching voice for wildlife and their habitats"

Is your child fascinated by all things scaly and crawling?Our interactive reptile, bug and frog parties may be just the fresh idea you’re looking for.Two presenters/animal wranglers will attend your party to look after the creatures and kids for an hour long fun packed show. The Birthday child is invited to help us go behind the scenes to help us retrieve all the animals on their special day as we present our show in front of a forest painted backdrop to create an Aussie bush feel.We can be indoors or outdoors and can also entertain your guests in a local park or hall.We only ask that you provide a picnic blanket and somewhere for the children to wash their hands before tucking into the birthday cake!The real stars of the day: A variety of Spiders, Scorpions, Centipedes, Praying Mantis, Giant Cockroaches, Crickets and Mealworms (in locked containers) A variety of extra large Stick Insects, and Hermit Crabs. We also bring 2 Bearded Dragons and a very cute baby dragon, a Magnificent Tree Frog and a Green Tree Frog, a Fresh or Saltwater crocodile, a large and small baby turtle, a blue tongue and shingleback lizard and 2 very friendly snakes. We have also provided some "Feature Creatures' themed animal invitations below that can be printed on coloured paper for that extra special party feel!

Imagine the learning with live animals in your classroom!Schools, Childcare centres, Vacation care groups and Before and After school care.Whether you’re learning specifically about reptiles and mini beasts or animal habitats and life cycles our tailored shows would suit any curriculum and age group.The children will be invited to participate during the hour long show and may touch or hold all of the animals. We also set up two interactive touch tables displaying a wide variety of animals and unusual artefacts.Contact Jacki to discuss discounted group bookings.

Fascinate your audience!Feature Creatures offers an enjoyable fascinating respite from the normal daily activities by providing fun, personal, interactive animal encounters.Our show is presented in front of a colourful 2m x 2m back drop of the Australian Bush with audio sounds of nature that runs for approximately 1 hour 15 mins.Two presenters/animal handlers will attend the venue to assist with the creatures and participants.All of our animals are very tame and may be touched or held throughout the show.We allow photo time during and after the show if you wish.The real stars on the day include:2 Turtles, 4-5 Lizards, 1 Crocodile, 2 Snakes, 2 Frogs, Stick Insects.

We are professional Zoo Keepers and dedicated volunteers with a shared passion for educating and displaying Australias fascinating Wildlife.

Jacki
Jacki Salkeld has over 27 years experience working within the animal care industry. She is the founding director of Feature Creatures – Mobile Reptile Displays first established in 2002. Her extensive history includes 12 years employment as a Zoo Keeper/Veterinary Nurse at Sydney’s famous Taronga and Western Plains Zoo, an Animal Technician caring for a colony of 160 Baboons, Veterinary Nursing domestic pets and injured / orphaned wildlife and is currently teaching the Captive Animals course at Richmond TAFE College NSW. Jacki has recently been made an executive committee member of the “Mobile Wildlife Educators Association”. It is her life mission to empower others to help make a difference!

Kevin

Kevin
Kev has spent his entire life working with animals. He initially started in the wool industry throughout rural Australia and was later employed at Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo, where he spent many years working with a wide variety of native and exotic species. Ultimately reptiles became his favourite! Kev’s interest in Australia’s Natural History then led him to the historical Wellington Caves where he honed his presentation skills as a fun and informative tour guide. Kev has always had a keen interest in conservation and today prides himself on sharing his knowledge and experiences with others by making people aware of the diversity of species living around them.Kev is currently supervisor at the Koala Park, Pennant Hills Sydney and has been with the Feature Creatures team since early 2010

Brendan

Brendan is a keen individual that seeks out environments that will challenge and further develop his skills in captive animal management, conditioning and animal presentations.

Brendan currently works as the Free Flight Bird Show presenter for Sydneys famous Taronga Zoo.

He has been with the Feature Creatures team since 2006.

Jodie

Jodie

Jodie has always had a passion for the conservation and education of Australian wildlife.

Jodie has been with Feature Creatures since January 2010 and in 2009 she graduated with her Certificate III in Captive Animals.

She has recently travelled to Thailand to work in a Rescue and Rehab Centre for Wildlife.

Jodie has previously volunteered at Symbio Wildlife Park and currently works in the Australian Fauna Department at Sydneys Taronga Zoo.

My name is Jayne from Penrith, I had Feature Creatures do a presentation at my son, Jarrod's, 6th Birthday Party at Mulgoa Park. I just wanted to let you know that the 2 ladies that did the presentation were absolutely fantastic!! My son had 'the best party ever' & all the kids at the party had a fantastic time. I will definately recommend you to anybody & everybody after something different for a birthday party. Thanks again, you made the day a HUGE success.Just a short note to pass on our thanks to your team for their great efforts at our Kiddies Xmas Party of Saturday. The girls were very knowledgeable and they managed to hold the kids attention for the entire time (which is a difficult task when dealing with 2-4 yrs olds). The kids absolutely loved it and the parents thought it was great too. A couple of the parents who attended are School Teachers and have seen many reptile shows etc and they commented that it was the best show they had seen. The kids are still all buzzing around talking about the Crocodile, the bbbiiiiiigggggggg python and the frogs.The lovely ladies and your fabulous creatures kept all of the kids - and the adults - enthralled for the full hour. Everyone loved every minute and we have the most beautiful photos to remember the showThe 2 staff were very welcoming, fantastic with the kids and even involved the adults.....who I must admit were as mesmerized as the children!! As a business owner myself I know how important it is to have good staff and I was most impressed with their professionalism and ability to keep the 6 year olds entertained. My son Jake was the talk of the school today and I will happily pass on your number. Thank you for making Jakes 6th Birthday one to remember
